Desert Air owns and operates a well-maintained 5-seater Cessna 206/210 single engine aircraft permanently based on the Sossusvlei Lodge property along with an experienced pilot who also doubles as a trained "aerial" desert guide. Each passenger has a window seat for great photographic opportunities.

None of the scenic flights have fixed scheduled times. All flights to the coast (Route 2 & 3) are suggested to be done in the late afternoon for sunset. The Route 1 can either be done early morning shortly after sunrise or late afternoon just before sunset.
